Bringing better connectivity to your community

We work with telecommunications providers to install mobile towers in locations that deliver the best possible coverage for your community.

In the first instance we prioritise using existing mobile towers to enhance service without needing to build new infrastructure. If that’s not feasible we follow a rigorous evaluation process to select a location that can accommodate the required improvements - and is in an appropriate place within the community. Where needed, we work alongside councils, community leaders and iwi to gain local knowledge for a balanced outcome.

It’s important to Connexa that communities are informed about our plans. So we send letters to residents close to mobile towers before installation or upgrades, providing details about our plans and what the finished site will look like.

If you have questions about a tower site in your area, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

How we comply with regulatory approvals

Connexa ensures our infrastructure is appropriately placed in communities by complying with the New Zealand Standards and the Resource Management Act 1991.

Our work is regulated under the Telecommunications Act 2001, and we comply with the guidelines of the National Environmental Standard for Telecommunications Facilities (NESTF).

Activities that fall outside the NESTF are managed through Council Unitary and/or District Plans. To find out more, visit your local council website.
